DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN NORTHERN IRELAND

Your wedding day is about celebrating with the people who matter most, not spending hours posing for photos. My approach to wedding photography keeps things relaxed and natural so you can simply enjoy the day.

I blend informal documentary moments with a few classic group photos and relaxed portraits, capturing the atmosphere and emotion as it unfolds. I’ll make the most of the light, the weather and your venue to create photographs that feel genuine and timeless.

Wedding Photography That Feels Effortless

Looking for a photographer who captures the real moments, the hugs, the happy tears, and the party? That’s exactly what I focus on.

For most of the day I work quietly in the background, blending in with your guests and allowing everything to unfold naturally, so you can focus on enjoying your day. The result is a collection of photographs that reflect the atmosphere of your wedding and the people who made it special.

Of course, we’ll still take a few relaxed portraits and the important family group photos, but these are kept quick, easy and enjoyable so you can get back to celebrating.

Your portraits won’t have awkward staging, just natural, photography with a refined, timeless style. Take a look around this page to see some examples of my work.

And if you’d like to hear what it’s like to work together, feel free to read reviews from couples who have trusted me to photograph their day.

The Process

I believe booking your wedding photographer should feel simple and relaxed, and this is generally how it works:

1. Get in Touch

If you feel my style might be a great fit for your wedding, simply get in touch to check availability for your date. I’ll send over some more details about my collections and answer any initial questions you might have.

2. A Quick Chat (Optional)

If you’d like, we can arrange a relaxed, no-obligation chat to get to know each other, talk about your plans, and make sure I’m the right photographer for you. Prefer to skip the call? That’s absolutely fine, we can move straight to the booking.

3. Secure Your Date

Once you’re ready to go ahead, I’ll send a simple online booking form along with details for the booking deposit to officially secure your date.

4. Planning Your Day

Around four weeks before your wedding, I’ll send a short pre-wedding questionnaire to gather all the important details and timings. We will then arrange a pre-wedding call to make sure everything is in place for a smooth, relaxed day.

5. Ongoing Support

From the moment you book until your wedding day, I’m always just an email or WhatsApp away. Whether you need advice on timelines, photo locations, or recommendations for other suppliers, I’m always happy to help.

If you think my approach might suit your wedding, I’d love to hear about your plans.

If you’re interested in working together, the best thing to do is get in touch to check availability for your date.

My remaining 2026 dates are now limited, and my 2027 and 2028 diary is open for bookings.

If I’m already booked, I’ll gladly point you towards some fantastic photographers to help with your search.

I’m based in Northern Ireland and regularly photograph weddings across the country, from the North Coast to Belfast and beyond, so the location of your wedding won’t be an issue. I’ve had the pleasure of regularly capturing weddings at beautiful venues such as Corick House Hotel and Spa, Limepark, Leighinmohr House Hotel, Tullyglass House Hotel and Killeavy Castle Estate. I am also a recommended supplier at Ballyscullion Park. Each venue offers something unique, whether it’s countryside views, elegant interiors, or relaxed outdoor spaces, and I always aim to work with the surroundings to capture natural, authentic moments throughout your day.

  • Of all the decisions we made during wedding planning, choosing Sam to photograph our wedding was the best decision we made.

    Beth and Conor

  • He made us feel so so comfortable on a day that would be very easy to feel overwhelmed by, and many family members have said how great he was on the day too!

    Sarah and Aidan

  • Everything he has captured is just perfectly us! Tears & laughs have most definitely been shared looking back through our album which has way outdone our expectations, even the guests have fed back how amazing the photos are.

    Alice and Clayton

  • Sam is really great with people, which I believe sets him apart-all of the laughing shots from our wedding were completely genuine! I cried and cried looking through our wedding album for the first time, he had captured all the moments so beautifully!

    Hazel and Sam

  • Aside from being able to capture fantasic shots on a chaotic busy day he is also just so easy going, chill and most importantly good craic !

    Edel and Jimmy

  • We chose Sam to do our wedding photography and honestly, it felt like he was part of the wedding party!
