I'm Sam, a photographer based in Magherafelt offering relaxed outdoor family sessions across Mid-Ulster. Whether you're in Magherafelt, Cookstown, Maghera, Antrim, or anywhere in between. How it works

We'll meet at one of the beautiful outdoor locations in and around Magherafelt. Springhill, Antrim Castle Gardens, and Drum Manor are favourites, or we can find somewhere that means something to you. I'll spend the session keeping things relaxed and fun, letting the kids be kids, and capturing the moments that actually look like your family rather than a catalogue shoot.

Sessions last around an hour and move at your pace entirely. The best family photos happen when everyone forgets I'm there, and that's exactly what I aim for.

How much does it cost?

Family sessions start from £200 for a one-hour outdoor shoot, with extended sessions available from £250. Sessions take place within 15 miles of Magherafelt, and further afield is no problem with a small travel addition.

All sessions include a professionally edited online gallery with your images ready to download, share, and print.

I can meet you wherever works best for you. In and around Magherafelt, some of the best outdoor locations are Springhill, Portglenone Forest, and Drum Manor. I'm also happy to come to your home or meet you somewhere that means something to your family.
All photos are delivered via a secure online gallery, ready to download, share, and print.
Absolutely. Prints can be ordered directly through your online gallery. I personally arrange them through a quality supplier I have worked with for a long time.
I keep a close eye on the forecast in the lead-up to your session. If the weather looks genuinely bad, we'll reschedule. Simple as that. A little drizzle or an overcast sky is actually perfect for photography, so there's no need to panic at a grey cloud!
Wear whatever you feel comfortable and like yourselves in, clothes that reflect your family. Coordinating tones rather than matching outfits tends to look great, but there are no strict rules. The goal is for these photos to look like you.
Yes! I love dogs. Pets are part of the family and should always be included in a family photoshoot.
My sessions usually take place outdoors and are ideal for children who are just finding their feet and older. Newborn posing photography is a very specialist genre and not something I offer. If you're looking for posed newborn photographs, I'm happy to recommend some outstanding local specialists who can help.
